Project (Prompt):
In 2024, another student and I completed an internship at Breathe Architecture, focusing on developing the brand identity for Grounded—a project dedicated to solving the housing, climate, and social isolation crises by designing homes in the forest.
Insight:
Grounded’s philosophy revolves around revitalizing community and connection through quality, affordable, and sustainable housing. Research into the brand’s core values—Timelessness, Innovation, and Design for Humans—revealed a balance between strength and vulnerability, where shelter and protection coexist with humanity and connection.
Solution:
Grounded’s brand identity was developed to visually and conceptually align with its mission. By integrating themes of resilience, sustainability, and inclusivity, we created a brand that reflects the harmony between nature and human connection. The final identity embodies a future-oriented yet timeless aesthetic, reinforcing Grounded’s commitment to solving the climate, housing, and social isolation crises.
